Arkansas Lottery
The lottery in Arkansas is officially known as “The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery” and first sold tickets on November 4th, 2008. The state also held a state wide vode in July 2009 to join Powerball and is the 33rd state lottery that offers that game. Sales are restricted to people over the age of 18 which is usual for most lotteries in the United States. Scratch tickets are also recently became available in 2009.
Unlike most states wich draw numbers using machins with physical balls holding the numbers, Arkansas instead uses a random number generator to select numbers. Arkansas is the first state to do so but a number of other states including Florida intend to computerized drawings.

The lottery was created in order to provide grants and scholarships to residents who took part in public and private non-profit colleges and universities. The law authorizing the lottery states:
